Advocacy
Lasting positive change in our community is possible!
Advocacy is important to ensuring the children, young adults and families Wellnest supports receive the programs and funding they need to achieve their fullest lives. By raising awareness and championing the needs of our clients, we lift up their voices and help create a brighter future for them! Below are a few ways you can advocate on behalf of Wellnest.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month
Wellnest recognizes May as National Mental Health Awareness Month. Support our efforts by liking, sharing and commenting on our social media posts. Participate in our campaigns and help to raise awareness for Wellnest services, and housing for some of the most vulnerable populations in Los Angeles.
Engage in Legislative Advocacy
We invite you to contact your local, state and federal representatives to support policies and funding that benefit organizations like Wellnest providing mental health services and housing for children, young adults and families in Los Angeles. Attend public hearings to highlight the importance of behavioral and mental health programs. We need your support! Consider organizing a fundraising event, or create a peer to peer fundraising campaign (Facebook offers a simple way to fundraise) and support Wellnest! Encourage your family members, friends and work colleagues to contribute either financially or in-kind. Learn more by visiting our Ways to Give page here.
